About the role
The Special Care Nursery in Ballarat is a level 4 nursery providing care for unwell, premature and/or small neonates and services the entire
Grampians region. We provide holistic, family centred care to newborns admitted directly from the postnatal ward or the emergency
department. The unit engages a broad care team, providing specialist developmentally-appropriate care.

- Provide a unique skill set to deliver a high standard of care for vulnerable patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Assist with Family Centred Care
- Facilitate the Care and Treatment of Infants
- Foster a team environment encompassing the multidisciplinary team, patients, family and visitors
- Contribute ideas and actions to Quality Improvement Initiatives
- Maintain safety by participating in National Standards Portfolio activities, remaining up to date with mandatory competencies and best practice governance documentation

Skills and experience
You will have:
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Experience within a Neonatal environment
- Works collaboratively to facilitate and foster the provision of best practice standards of nursing care and service delivery
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to effectively work with the multidisciplinary teams, patients, families and visitors.

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $40.15 - $50.68 per hour.
